Geriatric Activities

 

  • Conducted membership survey to evaluate member’s needs for resources concerning care of older adults
  • Worked with the American Association of Retired People (AARP) to develop and distribute a brochure for grandparents who are raising grandchildren
  • Developed gandparenting position statement work group
  • Offered an educational session at annual meetings, Grandparents as Parents: Raising Grandchildren

 

Presentations, Workshops and Seminars

 

  • NAPNAP will conduct an online membership survey to assess the number of members who are seeing grandparents, who are primary caregivers for children, and to evaluate the need for additional resources around care of older adults
  • NAPNAP will publicize its involvement in Nurse Competence in Aging to its membership through communication vehicles (i.e. newsletter, e-newsletter, website, etc.)

  • *Developed a proposal for the development and pilot of a simplified screening tool to assess grandparents for stress and health related concerns.
